Positive ionic charged minerals, especially calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) in water, cause hardness. Calcification and clogging of the installation caused by hardness are among the prominent problems. The use of ion exchange resin to remove the hardness of the water is practical and economical.
Riva Mühendislik softening systems perform the softening by reducing the high ion concentrations of calcium, magnesium and manganese without using anti-scalant chemicals, by means of valves and actuators in FRP, epoxy painted carbon steel and stainless-steel tanks. When the water softening resin reaches the saturation point, it needs regeneration. Regeneration is done with brine (NaCl). A tandem (duplex softening) system can be used to avoid softening interruption during the regeneration period. In tandem softening systems, when one resin tank goes into regeneration, the second tank continues the softening process.
