Positive ionic charged minerals, especially calcium and magnesium lead to hardness in water. The use of ion exchanger resin to remove water hardness is both practical and economical. Riva engineering softening systems perform softening by reducing high ion concentrations of calcium, magnesium and manganese without using anti-scalant chemicals and works fully automated using control valves and electric actuators. The water softener resin require regeneration when it gets saturated. Regeneration is done with saline water. A tandem (binary) system can be used to prevent softening interruptions during regeneration time. In tandem softening system when a tank is switched to regeneration, the second tank continues to soften the water. System capacities are up to flows of 100 m3/h and more.
